This download has the first 20 pages of a Gilbert Chemistry Set manual from about 1965. It is a
"sample" of the set of 3x5 cards that came with one of my childhood chemistry sets.
This manual was "mature" when I got it more than 40 years ago. The content is probably more than
50 years old (but of course the fundamental properties of nature haven't changed for even longer
than that). I can find no copyright on this manual and the company that produced it (A.C. Gilbert)
is long gone. It SHOULD be public domain but copyrights are funny things - after all, Disney still
(somehow) holds the legal rights to the 1937 "Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs" movie.
All the scanning and photoshopping is a little tedious. It will take me several hours to do the
entire manual so I don't want to do it if somebody is going to complain about copyright infringement.
... Anyway, I'm putting this sample up for a few months to see if anybody has a problem. If nobody
complains I'll post the entire manual - but I'll probably charge a small amount to compensate me
for all the work of scanning the hundreds of pages. This sample has the spacing pages and dividers
exactly as the original. I plan to do the same with the following scans.
Free (for now): Download the first twenty pages of this vintage Gilbert Chemistry Set Manual (4.7 MB).
